My website design feels inconsistent and unprofessional — need honest feedback

Hey everyone,


I’m not a designer or developer, just trying to build something on my own, and I think I’ve reached a point where things don’t feel right anymore.


I built my website using WordPress, but instead of using a proper theme system, I ended up designing most sections using custom HTML + CSS blocks. At first it felt flexible and I could create exactly what I wanted, but now it’s starting to feel messy and inconsistent.


Some issues I’ve been struggling with:

• I’ve duplicated the same classes multiple times (like buttons, cards, sections), sometimes with slightly different styles
• I used !important way too much just to force things to work
• spacing and alignment feels slightly off in different sections
• typography isn’t consistent across the page
• I mixed different layout approaches (flex, grid, etc.) without really planning it
• I don’t have any global design system, everything is kind of isolated
• mobile responsiveness works but not in a clean or consistent way
• overall it feels like separate blocks instead of one cohesive design

The weird part is that when I look at individual sections, they seem okay, but when I look at the full page, it just doesn’t feel “professional” or clean.


I think I focused too much on making each section look good instead of thinking about the overall structure.

I’d really appreciate honest feedback — especially from designers — on:

• what feels off visually
• what looks unprofessional
• what I should fix first

Even harsh feedback is fine, I just want to improve this properly.
