Due to the saturation of the niche many newbies doubt it will be worth it to go into the niche right now. When I think about it I tend to agree as well, because many seasoned designers are still struggling to get good gigs.

What advice would you give?

Even though it would seem as if that graphic design is a saturated niche, it is still something that is very lucreative if you know exactly what you're doing.

A lot of companies out there are looking for services of freelancers to help them completely different projects at all times.

The niche is definitely saturated and it can feel intimidating for newcomers. I'm not yet a pro but to get a gig is not coming so easy.
My advice to the newbie is to focus on finding a unique style or specialization, keep improving your skills and networking as much as possible.

Consistency and creativity can help one stand out in a saturated niche.

In all honesty, I don't think there's any niche out there now which isn't going to intimidating for newcomers. Even AI niche which is just like it's new can be very intimidating to newcomers. If they are not focused and with full determination to succeed in it, they will fail.

Yes of course, graphic design is a very good career to push for. I had to pause on everything else I was working on and join my friends in the field because they were making it big in the niche.

Every niche is intimidating for newcomers and while the professionals are trying their best to maintain theirs, it will never be easy. It's only consistent and determination will make a newcomer to be noticed in what they do.

Even with the saturation in every niche, there's always room for someone who have what it takes, who can bring unique perspective or style to shine. Just focus on building your own voice, mastering your craft than to compare with others.

Consistency is also another best way to show your work in that niche you enjoy working with, engage with clients and keep learning.

There is need for someone to be unique in whatever field they are interested in participating in. Without being creative which comes with a lot of knowledge in the said field, it will be practically difficult for that person to make a mark and become successful in that particular field.

If being a graphic designer is your passion, I don't see why it's not a good career for someone to focus on. I know many people who earn good money from being a freelance graphic designer.
