Is graphics design still a lucrative skill?

This question has been popping up left and right due to the fact that AI seems to be dominating that field. Many now feel like they can get designs for a fractional cost of the fees of a freelancer. If we are being honest that seems to be true to an extent with the kind of designs that AI are pulling off.

Do you think graphics design is still a lucrative skill to pursue?

Yes it is. Designers are making shitload of money if you know the right place to source for clients and you are good at what you do.

I believe there are still big designers that make a lot of money. The major focus is on understanding your clients and giving them what they needed from you.

I believe it is because if not, why are so many people now going into it especially as a freelancer? Many don't even want working 9-5 for any firm because they get paid better working as a freelancer.

It's a lucrative skill if you're getting jobs regularly because that's when you get to make more money from the skills. Without getting jobs frequently, it can never be seen as a lucrative skill for you.

Well any profession that one is not making enough money there is not a good one. The sole purpose of working is to be able to make money so as to take care of ourselves.
